Day 18

As usual starting with Newspaper headline Table then the managers went to plant Union Tree near to Cargo building. after that As Sultan told me I am who will control the department when they will be with the managers. 

After that Staff from other departments was coming to take Spirit of the Union Brooches and Scarfs so first i have to tell them that they have to write their names and sign in the paper and after signing I can give them the stuff. 

After that Omar Tormosh Business Development Executive asked me to edit National Day Presentation that i have did it yesterday. He told me to change specific things and after editing he was happy and told me that 

i am able to become designer ..

During this works there were many calls that i have answered and transfer .. 

Day 17

Today was the evaluation day for the department decorating competition, when i arrived they have done the decoration of Commercial Department and it reflect UAE's environment in the past and now.

I have done the Newspaper Headline after that all the staff went to other department to see the what activities they are holding, and they told me to stay in the office to answer the calls. 

All the time i was sitting in the office answering the calls and helping in preparing the distributions for the kids. 

Day 16

Today was too much busy for me and for the Marketing Staff. I have started with Newspaper Headline Table, today most of the newspapers published many articles. Then my Supervisor told me to stop doing the headline table and to call each department to confirm who which department will take part in the competition of department decoration. After that she gave me National Day PowerPoint. It took time to did it and to edit it, after that I complete the Headline table and put it in MKT folder which is joint folder for marketing staff. 

Day 15

Started with doing the table of Newspaper articles and after that i have to call all staff to confirm who will participate in Car Competition, most of them say no there is no time to decorate the car. after that i have answered most of the calls, then Fatima gave me competition grading and evaluating criteria to do and some CD covers to cut and tomorrow will stick i on the CD of the National Day to give away to customers.

Day 14 and Weekly Report

On day 14, I have done the table of articles headline and gave it to the Marketing head section, I was shay to suggest but I have courage myself and suggest to connect the headline with the links on the newspaper and send it via email instead of printing.

He liked the idea and asked me to come with him to Mr. Donald D’Souza the Director Commercial, and he told him about my idea they like it and asked me to start making the list.

My supervisor Fatima told me that I have plenty of time to finish the other poster, and I have to complete what is important than the poster.

Day 13

After clipping the newspaper articles and gave it to the new head section, he suggest that if i make a table and write the headlines, date and source of the articles. within 15 minutes i have done the table but he was busy so he didn't see it. After That, the customer relations section head Alia asked me to make a list of 20 departments name in Arabic and English within 10 minutes, then i have time to do the poster but it is not finish yet. my supervisor Fatma was very busy in making National Day poster for DCA building, so i can't finish the poster. 

Day 12

Starting with clipping articles and gave it to new head section. After that I have complete one poster and submit it today. The remaining poster I have to submit it by tomorrow.

Also I have answered calls when my supervisor was in a meeting with the new head section, and 7 sections confirm that they will participate in National Day’s competitions. 

Day 11

Today each newspaper had around 5 to 6 articles about airports, Aviation and airways. Also today there was an article about increasing of passenger’s number in Sharjah Airport. That took 3 hours and 30 minutes to cut, arrange and paste it. After that Fatima gave me a list of sections in the Department of Civil Aviation, and asked me to call each head of section and ask them if they will participate in National Day’s competitions. Most of them didn't answer the phone and the rest said they will discuss the matter and then will confirm, and training section refuse to participate. Marketing section will provide each section with a budget of 2000 Dhs to participate in Section decoration competition.

After that I faced problem with the size of the poster, it was larger than my laptop’s disk capacity, so I asked her to use her computer and she accepted. 

Day 10

Started with Clipping the Articles and then edited some mistakes in the Strategic Map and print it out.

Then I have asked my supervisor to make the work plan for coming weeks, after that I have asked her for a challenging project and she asked me if I know how to use Adobe Photoshop  and I showed her some pictures that I have edited it in Photoshop.  After that she asked me to create two large posters for the airport in the past and now.

It is challenging project, because I have done editing for blackberry’s display picture and I don’t have any idea how to create poster in Adobe Photoshop. I have two days left to submit the posters.

Day 9 and Weekly Report

As usual started with clipping newspaper articles, after that i have started to complete yesterday's work, which was charts of strategic map for the Airport. After that i have reordered some files and make new labels foo them but unfortunately the printer was showing error and we can't print anything today.

I am working in the same department and i have asked my supervisor and she told me that my work experience will be in the same section. I like the tasks that y supervisor and other members of the department giving me, and i am trying my best to complete the task in short time. They are very helpful and cooperated department.

Day 8

Today was really busy -__-

As usual i have started to read and cut the articles, today i have collected about 15 articles from 5 newspapers related to Emirates, Arbia Airlines and Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah International Airports.

After that my Supervisor gave me strategy maps for Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah Airport Authority and Department of Civil Aviation. So I have redoing it with some changes, then my supervisor told me that i can finish it tomorrow because the time exceeded 01:30 pm and my working time finished at 01:00 pm.

Day 7

Today was very busy day for the staff, they have meeting for preparation of National day and how much the budget will be. It seems that it is not allowed for me to join the meeting. At the same time of the meeting, I was doing the article clipping. After that I have done some printing and ordering Hajj Portfolio.

I hope they will take me seriously, and teach me some work !!

Day 6

Today i am a little bit disappointed because there is no work plan, and I have no idea what to do. But still I am asking my supervisor to give me work, she gave me work but it is not something challenging.

My supervisor told me that she will gave me work to do and it will be too much, will I hope that will become true.

Day 5 and Weekly report

 I was doing the same work for whole week and i have worked with My supervisor Fatma Al Ali Branding and Media Relations Officer, Sami Shariff he is Statistic and Market Research Officer and Alya Section Head Customer Relation Manager. This three persons i deal with them in a daily baises.

I have learnt how to deal with people face to face or in telephone. I have used Word document to make labels for the files,ordering the files, Hajj Portfolio and writing a proposal for developing the website.   

I like Marketing department it is quiet place, my supervisor and also colleagues they are trying to help me and make the tasks easier for me.

The only thing that i don't like, was that my supervisor didn't give me work plan, I think i will ask her to give me work plan. I am looking forward to learn more functional tasks that will help me in my career.

Day 4

Today was a really busy day !!

As usual Today i have started with collecting articles, but my supervisor took leave for one day because she was sick. Today collecting article took more time from 8:00 am till 11:30 am, because there were many articles ans also 5 newspapers. Then i have start to write the proposal about Sharjah Airport Website. Today i was allowed to answer the phone calls.

Tomorrow I have to update the airline companies list, and i think i have to call each company to update the information.

Day 3

As usual, i have started my day by searching for articles that are related to Aviation, airports in UAE and  planes in UAE. Today it took long time to collect and stick it in papers, because the office boy was late in bringing the newspapers. 

After that Mr Sami who is doing the statistic in Marketing Department, gave me task to do which was to present a proposals of developing the website of the Sharjah airport. Also he will give me a list of airline companies that they are dealing with, and i should update the list and confirms all the information and details are right.

It seems to be like tomorrow will be a busy day ..

Day 2

Today was good but light works, I have started my day by collecting the article from many different newspapers such as Al Khaleej, Al Byaan, Al Etihad and Gulf News, from 8:30 am to 9:15 am.

Then my supervisor gave me files to reorder them and to make new labels for each file for example Press Release 2012, Media Monitoring Article clipping for each month for 2012 and also Analysis Report 2012. And that took about one hour and half because Media Monitoring Article clipping was for five months. The rest of the files took about 30 minutes to reorder and making labels for each.

I hope tomorrow I will learn more about Marketing. 

Day 1 in Department of Civil Aviation

In the first day of my work experience course, I’ve arrived to Department of civil aviation In Sharjah Airport Authority  at 7:45 AM and then met the training coordinator Fozan Al Hammadi and he introduce me to my supervisor Fatima in Marketing section.

In the Beginning Fatima talk with and asked about marketing and what I love in this major.  Then she started to teach me what to do. At 9:00 am I have started with Fatima to collect any article about UAE’s airports and anything related to aviation in UAE and sticks it in paper, then sends it to the director of Aviation Department.

Then Fatima gave me a small project, to format a portfolio of Hajj pilgrims of 2012, then I started to work on it till 1:00 pm and that was the end of the day.
